Matt and Carletta   6-1-77 mission     I was talking to Matt. He was visiting us at the mission. He invited me to go repelling with them. They go up into the canyon to the top of the cliffs. Matt has a 160 foot nylon rope that he ties to a tree. They repel down the cliff. Community   6-2-77   Charles and Matt had a meeting with Gerald and organized a slow pitch softball league for the summer. Gerald put up money for balls, bats and bases. Matt and Charles have put a lot of time into fixing up the mission fields and with supplies from the tribal recreation department, they built a field and backstop in Whitecow Canyon. The games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays on these two fields. It is a mixed league and three of the members of the te

My family left Hays soon after the Catholic Indian Congress. It was great to be with them for a couple of weeks. It was totally cosmic to share with them the Catholic Indian Congress and all of what that entailed. It was just fantastic to have them meet all our dear friends in the community and at the mission. It was the trip of a lifetime to go to Glacier National Park with them. Susie and I were totally exhausted from their visit and everything else that transpired in June.

6-2-77   A group of people from the mission and the community were invited to a prayer meeting in Billings. Carla Mount is married and lives in Billings (JJ and Bernice’s daughter). At 3:00 a group of people congregated at the mission. The group went down in Mike’s truck  and Bill Fugelvand’s van. Lindey, Irene, JJ, Bernice, Roseann, Teresa Walker, Mike and Father.
